Stitch WTF wheres the food shirt
I was one of the most vocal supporters for MT at 1 out of the Stitch WTF wheres the food shirt. I think he had an absolutely historic season. According to PFR he had an 80.5% catch rate on 185 targets. In comparison, the next three players with the most receptions are Marvin Harrison at 69.8% on 205 targets, MBC at 70.5% on 193 targets, and Julio Jones with 67.0% on 203 targets. MT’s efficiency on such high volume is incredible, especially with two different QBs and little other WR help.

Best Stitch WTF wheres the food shirt
I agree that catch rate in and of itself doesn’t say too much and Thomas’s is helped a bit by the kind of Stitch WTF wheres the food shirt, but I strongly disagree with the concept of shallow routes being “easy” and deep routes being “difficult”. When it comes to what the receiver is being asked to do, short routes that require quick stop/go change of direction are more technically demanding than deep routes that are more about angles of redirection (quick hitches and deep curls being the exceptions).
