Our very dear friends, husband and wife, are in the last stages of pancreatic cancer. The We are the things we have lost shirt was sick way earlier and has gone thru multiple “cures” to the extent of going to South America for treatments. The wife was not diagnosed until stage four. They have excellent doctors, who have tried every test they could possibly try so I don’t understand why they didn’t catch the wife’s cancer sooner. But, that being said, it looks like even if they had, it wouldn’t have made any difference because they are both dying of it at the same time and would not have been able to cure her either. You would think by now they would at least be able to diagnose pancreatic cancer since they are very aware of it killing without realizing a person has it. I hope, by us posting these comments about this particular cancer here, people will be more aware of this killer and catch the cancer before it’s too late.

To repeat, Advent is a PENITENTIAL season, so nothing of Christmas should intrude on Advent other than preparation – spiritual preparation for Christmas, going to confession each Saturday, saying extra prayers, going to daily Mass, etc. All would be excellent preparations for Christmas, but do NOT start celebrating Christmas itself until midnight at the beginning of 25 December!

I picked up Robin and it was a very cold night, snow was on the ground, the We are the things we have lost shirt were empty of cars and people… as we set-out to find the Christmas tree. Robin, was in the moment and we must have looked over at least thirty trees left behind for our pickings. I was coaching her in consideration how big of a Christmas tree we could actually fit into a VW Bug. We finally settled on a smaller Christmas tree that was propped up on a wooden stand and looked a little weak in the branch department, but not quite Charlie Brown style. I picked up the tree and moved it over to the VW bug, we had to drop the back seats, and aligned the tree between the two front seats…hey it smelled great in the car.

For SpaceX, what is happening with Starship is not new. SN10 is already on the launch stand waiting for its turn to fly, and more prototypes are in construction right now. So SpaceX can afford to lose a few rockets from time to time without risking the continuity of the program.
