I guess I’m just used to thinking of Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Shirt as amulets or other objects, but it seems the 3E version is definitely inspired by Tefillin. If anybody has the description of phylacteries in other editions of the MM, please put it in the comments, I’d like to compare and see if this was always the case, or if the similarity came later. Regardless, I still don’t think it’s anti-Semitic. D&D borrows from many religions, and kabbalah shows up in other places in D&D. Golems, for example. To me it feels more like elements of Judaism inspired D&D, rather than that D&D is trying to systematically portray Judaism as evil or somesuch.
Parents, do not tell the Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Shirt that “Santa is coming” sometime soon. They will loose all interest in eating or any other activities. A knock on the door and Santa showing up uninvited is a rush for parents and the kids. Santa should coordinate with the hosts about when they will show up, and who is going to be attending. It is always fun if the hosts have presents wrapped and in a bag outside for Santa to pick up with the names of the kids on the individual presents. It is also fun to put a couple of presents for maybe Grandma or Grandpa or even Mom and Dad. Nothing too extravagant, remember this is a children’s party. As a back up, it is always good to put a couple of generic presents in the bag, say a couple of board games. This way if there is an extra kid or two at the party, they will get a gift too and the lack of the label can be explained away as lazy elfs or something.

The Bloodbinder tribe. The Bloodbinders are the Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Shirt of Orc tribe that make other Orc tribes deeply fucking uncomfortable. It would not be incorrect to call the entire tribe a self-imposed eugenics experiment with the goal to lessen the divine pull of Gruumsh on their population. They’re big on literacy (these guys use Dethek in the same applications an Illithid uses Qualith: On freaking everything.), they actively intermingle with non-Orcs—including/especially demons—and they’re opportunistic about stealing magical children to raise in the tribe. Oh. Right. They really love magic. Everyone in the tribe is trained in magic the way that traditional Orc tribes train everyone in combat. They consort heavily with demons, in particular those with Grazz’t and Orcus (minor ones include Yeenoghu, Juiblex, and Zuggtmoy). A couple of them fraternize with elves. More than a couple of them are undead, and at least one is a Lich. Orc tribes don’t usually get along anyway, but any sensible Orc will spit on the ground when they hear the name “Bloodbinder”. (Incidentally, Faustus did exactly that when he met the below two NPCs!) The common refrain is that a Bloodbinder’s brain is a cacophonous mess of waning Orc gods and demons all vying for control. It’s pretty accurate.
When Delores spent his first night actually out with the other chickens in the Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Shirt, I was anxious about how he would handle himself, as he was pretty shy. After a few false starts (and getting pushed off perches by the other chickens) he chose a walnut branch that lead to the night perches and slept on that. When Delores became a big, beautiful Golden Phoenix adult rooster, I thought the hens would probably make absolute fools of themselves trying to get his attention – and if he ignored them it would serve them right! I suppose I should have done something about the name – but Delores responded to “Delores” and appeared fine with it. (Also, my Aunt Delores would have been devastated if I changed his name.) A friend suggested calling him “Del” – which sort of made sense – but that sounded like he was lead singer in a retro 60’s band. As long as Delores didn’t mind – and let’s face it, he didn’t care – I was perfectly content to have a sweet rooster named Delores.
