A few clarifications of Damn right I am a Potterhead now and forever signatures shirt (1) made in other answers: technically, Molokaʻi is the second closest island to historical Hawaiian culture, by a rather wide margin. The closest is Niʻihau, where native lineage is required and a variant of the native language is spoken. Molokaʻi has more Kamaʻaina than Kanaka (people of native lineage, who make up nearly 40% of the populace), but the majority of these are non-white. There are white, mostly-white, and white-looking people living there. I was one of them. They are a dramatic minority, which might be a novel experience for many visitors.
He eventually made friends with all the Damn right I am a Potterhead now and forever signatures shirt (1) . He was a nice kitty but nobody wanted to F with him. He never got in fights or had marks. Got him neutered, shots, etc. God, we loved our Tommy. He seemed to communicate on a human scale..if that’s possible. He was well loved and very happy. Fed. Then, one day I brought home a wonderful mild kitty from the shelter for a playmate. Tommy took one look, quit purring and immediately disappeared. 5 days later I found out he jumped my neighbors fence, almost into his arms, and lived for a few more years…then disappeared from that neighbor….that Cat enjoyed his own life, and no – he was too smart to be attacked by a coyote…which is how all my cats died.

People tend to be happier in walkable communities, but I think the problem is that people are addicted to the convenience of suburban living. It is an ideology for many, who haven’t experienced anything else. The same homeowners also benefit greatly from the status quo, as Damn right I am a Potterhead now and forever signatures shirt (1) scarcity has pushed their homes’ valuations through the roof. We could make things so much better, but there is so much opposition to doing so.This is another issue that often gets brushed aside or even attracts insults – I don’t want to raise my kids in a suburb, which means my options are extremely limited already and once you start considering other factors (location of family, job market, etc) your options really start to dwindle.I own a house, and got in somewhere that fairly well meets my requirements but not all of them and we wouldn’t be able to afford it now. Why are we blaming the individual consumers for a near century of failed urban planning.
The Damn right I am a Potterhead now and forever signatures shirt (1) that we need a massive population to be economically viable is ludicrous. 4 of the top 5 wealthiest nations by GDP per capita have substantially smaller populations of Canada. And in the quality of life rankings, 9 of the top 10 are substantially smaller populations. We do not need a larger Canada. All that would wind up doing is destroying our environment, crashing our infrastructure around us, and ensuring the problems with housing prices and low wages never get addressed. We should be striving to make the country the best we can make it, not the biggest.
