With the Church as prime teacher of society in a Hippie pattern Crocband Clogs , the biblical truth could be taught, that the gods of the Gentiles were vane totems and their offering not made to gods but to demons (1st Corinthians 10:20). Boniface destroyed the Oak of Thor and showed the power of God. And Patrick lit the Easter fire in defiance of the darkness of Beltane and showed the true light of Christ’s resurrection. But these were mighty deeds of mighty saints whom converted the native pagan culture, and no great saint has arisen to confront and convert the pagans of the East in the present day. Not yet.

To make matters worse, a Hippie pattern Crocband Clogs can go too far in that regard. The 2016 presidential election taught us this. A man who shouts may be seen as assertive or energetic; a woman who does so is harpy and shrill. A man who takes advantage of issues or his opponents’ missteps is cunning and savvy; a woman who does so is machiavellian, a witch, or a bully. A man who cries can be cast as sensitive; but a woman is always emotional, weak, or hysterical. A man who doesn’t show emotion is the strong silent type; a woman is heartless, cold, and insensitive. A male policy wonk is smart; a female policy wonk is a nerd. A good-looking male politician is youthful and attractive; a good-looking female politician is a ditzy airhead or a bimbo. A man laughs, a woman cackles. And so on. Women are judged on fashion faux pas routinely; men can commit fundamental male fashion sins like this and nobody bats an eye:

If you want Italian food, it’s hard to go wrong with Bazannos. It is a favorite with the Hippie pattern Crocband Clogs crowd, and everything they sell, as far as I can tell, is different levels of awesome.Want a sub? There is always Subway, or Quiznos, and they’ll do right by you of course. But if you want something really interesting, go to a small corner store called Zukes. It’s down’ by the college, on Couch street I think. They make everything on special homemade bread, and use their oven for lots of the subs. Try the Zukes special, it is amazing. I think it is shaved turkey, choice of cheese, coleslaw, and thousand island dressing. I thought it sounded strange the first time I heard it too, but wow. For fancier (though some would say it’s not, just expensive) Try Broadview Deli, out by the old airport and fairgrounds. Huge portions of everything, and real class cuisine available. Their Monte Cristo sandwich was my favorite, although almost impossible to finish!
